Reference desk
At the Reference desk (Information) you will be helped by a librarian who is thoroughly trained in the use of library resources. Do not hesitate to ask questions. Our aim is to provide the best service we can.


The Mobile Library
The Mobile Library (bokbussen) makes regular rounds, visiting Flogsta, Stenhagen, Luthagen and a number of the municipality´s outer districts. For details, call the Mobile Library Department

Electronic resources
Using the Internet workstations at the IT-torget is free of charge. At several computer numbers you can use a scanner and multimedia. You can also use the computers for writing. Prints cost 2 SEK. There are also two stations where you can search for articles in Swedish databases. To book a computer at the IT-torget, use the self-help desk at the IT-torget, or visit the online-booking at our website.

Books
Among the library´s collection of 800, 000 books, videos and CDs, there are books and publications in 50 other languages.There are also language courses, and talking books. Foreign books are located to the right on the first floor gallery, and you will find a wide variety of foreign newspapers in the newspaper room, to the left of the rest rooms. Children´s literature in foreign languages is available in the children´s and young people´s department downstairs. Please ask at the reference desk (Information) if you can´t find what you are looking for.

Newspapers and magazines
The newspaper´s reading room opens every weekday at 8 am. On Saturday and Sunday it is open during the library´s regular hours. Here you will find 100 Swedish newspapers, as well as newspapers in 28 different languages. We save the newspapers for a month. It is not possible to check out the newspaper, but you can always copy any article for a small fee.

The library also has about 900 different magazines in 28 languages in the library´s magazine room. The latest issue is always available. You can request older issues at the reference desk. Magazines may be checked out, except for Swedish magazines published in the current year.

Uppsala and Uppland Collection
At the Uppsala and Uppland Collection (Uppsala- och Upplandssamlingen) you will find books about local history. Here you can read about the university´s history, as well as the city´s industrial history. There are approximately 4,000 books in the collection.

Events and exhibitions
The library offers programmes (in Swedish) which for the most part is free but some programmes cost 40 Swedish crowns (only September-May). Exhibitions are displayed in the area on the left hand side when entering the library. Children´s department also provide events. Ask for more information.
