Welcome to Uppsala Art Museum



 

Uppsala Art Museum is a municipal museum of art situated in Uppsala Castle. The Museum exhibits works of art from its own collections, arranges temporary exhibitions of Swedish and international contemporary art and also houses a permanent exhibition of the University’s collection of works of art used for Fine Art studies.

The University Art Collection

The collection is a permanent exhibition of religious and secular paintings dating from the fourteenth century to 1850.
 

Opening hours:

Tue-Fri  12-4 pm,  
Sat–Sun 12-4.30 pm. Mondays closed.

Admission fee:

Adults 40 SEK.
Free admission for young persons under 20 years of age.

The Museum Shop

Art catalogues, books, postcards, gift articles and arts and crafts products are on sale in the Museum Shop.

Mini-Café

A mini-Café is also to be found in the Museum Shop.
May – August: Iliana’s Castle Café, entrance via Kung Jans port (the archway below the steps to the south of the Castle).

Accessibility

The Museum can accommodate disabled persons. This also applies to the men’s and ladies’ rooms. There is a lift/elevator to all floors. The entrance for disabled persons is equipped with a ramp. The Museum staff is glad to be of assistance at the entrance and the lift/elevator.
